I. Test Requirements
1. Take the 1st PCR test 48hrs before departure date 00:00HR and the 2nd PCR test within 24hrs before flight departure at any legal clinics or institutions in South Korea (Please see attachment for a reference list of testing clinics or institutions). Please take two tests at different clinics or institutions with different brands of reagents and an interval of more than 24hrs.
2. Apply for a blue code with the first negative PCR test report from the Chinese Embassy or Consulate-General in South Korea (based on consular jurisdiction on the testing clinics or institutions).
3. Present the blue code and two reports with negative results to the airlines for inspection before boarding the flight.
4. Reports issued by all legal testing clinics or institutions in South Korea are recognized, including electronic versions, paper versions, emails, text messages, etc. There are no format or language requirements, but the content must indicate the passenger's name, passport number, date of birth, time and date of sampling, the brand of reagent, etc.
II. Health Code Application
1. Upon receiving the negative result of the 1st PCR test, the passenger should apply for a health code.
2. Please log on to https://hrhk.cs.mfa.gov.cn/H5/ or scan the QR code below.
3. Following the steps to register, submit personal information, upload test reports and all other required documents (passport data page, valid Chinese visa or resident permit, etc.), truthfully and accurately answer the questions about your personal information and health status, including but not limited to fever symptoms, contact, and travel history.
4. The passenger from a third country needs to upload the Korean Alien Registration Card or the Entry Confirmation issued by the Korean Immigration Service.
5. Though a child under the age of 3 does not need to take the tests, he needs to apply for a health code(a green code). The guardian can apply for him by uploading the data page of the child's passport instead of the test report.
6. The passenger will get a blue code with the HDC. He must present the code within its validity period with two reports with negative results to the airlines for inspection before boarding the flight.
III. Requirements for Those Infected Before
1. Recovery Confirmation: take 2 PCR tests with a sampling interval of at least 24hrs. After confirming that both results are negative, the passenger can book a flight 14 days later as of the date of the 2nd PCR sampling.
e.g., if the passenger took 2 PCR tests on July 1 and 2 respectively and got negative results, he can book flights on and after June 17.
2. Go through the procedure from Part I to Part II before boarding the flight. When applying for a health code, please also upload the negative result report of the recovery confirmation test.
IV. Requirements for Close Contacts
1. Close contacts are those who have not taken personal epidemic prevention measures when having close contact with suspected or confirmed cases 2 days before the onset of symptoms or having close contact with infected persons 2 days before the specimens of asymptomatic sampled.
2. The passenger regarded as close contact within 7 days before boarding needs to conduct a 5-day health monitoring. If there is no abnormality during the period, the passenger can go through the procedure from Part I to Part II before boarding.
V. Requirements for Transiting Passengers
The transiting passenger from a third country needs to present the green or blue health code issued by the Chinese Embassy or Consulates General in the departure country.
VI. Important Reminders
1. Chinese Embassy in South Korea verifies the health code between 9:00-21:00 every day (including holidays). Applications made after 21:00 will be processed the following day from 9:00. Please apply at least 5hrs before the flight departure. Those taking early flights before 10:00 should apply before 20:00 the previous evening.
2. Any false declaration, falsification of test results, or alteration of test reports will result in rejection of health code application and being declined of boarding or be held liable for the offense.
