I. Test Requirements for Health Code Application
1. Take a PCR test 48hrs before departure date 00:00HR at clinics or institutions designated by the Embassy or Consulate-Generals in South Korea(see attachment).
2. A paper report of testing results with a standardized format is needed. Please check the personal information on the test report is accurate.
II. Health Code Application
1. Upon receiving negative results, the passenger should apply for a health code from the Chinese Embassy or Consulate-General in South Korea (based on consular jurisdiction on the designated testing facilities).
2. Please log on to https://hrhk.cs.mfa.gov.cn/H5/ or scan the QR code below.
3. Following the steps to register, submit personal information, upload test reports and all other required documents (passport data page, valid Chinese visa or resident permit, etc.), truthfully and accurately answer the questions about your personal information and health status, including but not limited to fever symptoms, contact, and travel history.
4. The passenger from a third country needs to upload the Korean Alien Registration Card or the Entry Confirmation issued by the Korean Immigration Service. Short-term visitors and those who have traveled to a third country within one month need to stay in South Korea for 14-28 days before starting the PCR test of applying for a health code.
5. Though a child under the age of 3 does not need to take the tests, he needs to apply for a health code. The guardian can apply for him by uploading the data page of the child's passport instead of the test report.
6. The passenger will get a blue code with the HDC after approval. He must present the code within its validity period to the airlines before boarding the flight.
III. Tests Before Boarding
1. For those taking flight departs after 13:00, please take a PCR test 12hrs before flight departure at designated clinics or institutions.
2. For those taking flight departs at 13:00 or before, two options are available as follows:
① take a PCR test 12hrs before flight departure at designated clinics or institutions. Or
② take a PCR test 24hrs before flight departure plus an Antigen test 12hrs before flight departure at designated clinics or institutions.
3. The passenger needs to get a paper report or PDF electronic report of the negative results of the above tests and present it together with the blue code with HDC to the airlines before check-in or boarding.
Ⅳ. Requirements for Those Infected Before
1. Recovery Confirmation: take 2 PCR tests with a sampling interval of at least 24hrs. After confirming that both results are negative, the passenger can book a flight one month later from the time of the second PCR sampling.
e.g., if the passenger took 2 PCR tests on May 12 and 13 respectively and got negative results, he can book flights on and after June 13.
2. Go through the procedure from Part I to Part III before boarding. When applying for a health code, please also upload the negative result report of the recovery confirmation test.
V. Requirements for Close Contacts
1. Close contacts are those who have not taken personal epidemic prevention measures when having close contact with suspected or confirmed cases 2 days before the onset of symptoms or having close contact with infected persons 2 days before the specimens of asymptomatic sampled.
2. The passenger regarded as close contact within 20 days before boarding needs to conduct a 14-day quarantine and health monitoring. During the 14-day quarantine, a PCR test needs to perform on the 1st, 4th, and 7th days. If the results are negative, the passenger can go through the procedure from Part I to Part III before boarding. When applying for a health code, please also upload the negative results of the above three PCR tests.
VI. Requirements for Transiting Passengers
The passenger from a third country with direct flights to China requires to take the direct flights. The transiting passenger from a third country without a direct flight needs to present the green health code issued by the Chinese Embassy or Consulates General in the departure country.
VII. Important Reminders
1. Chinese Embassy in South Korea verifies the health code between 9:00-21:00 every day (including holidays). Applications made after 21:00 will be processed the following day from 9:00. Please apply at least 5hrs before the flight departure. Those taking early flights before 10:00 should apply before 20:00 the previous evening.
2. Any false declaration, falsification of test results, or alteration of test reports will result in rejection of health code application and being declined of boarding or be held liable for the offense.
